Due to an astronomical growth in the population of Saker Baptist College over the past 30 years, the originally effective water delivery system to the school has become insufficient and cannot support the school during frequent - and sometimes lengthy - power outages that incapacitate the pumps and the delivery system. Compounding the problem is the fact that the school is situated on a hill, making it almost impossible for the water provided by the SNEC (the Cameroon Water Corporation) to reach the campus.
Consequently, the girls must trek off campus for approximately 1/4 mile and sustain a vertical climb of about 150 ft. to the nearest water source to fetch water for their daily needs. On occasions when power is available, students have to wait in long lines at the spigots on campus to fill up buckets. Because of the inflexible academic schedule, students often spend their recreation time procuring water. Additionally, water impurities and deplorable sanitation facilities cause water borne diseases such as malaria, typhoid disease and skin rash.
OUR COMMITMENT
For the current students at Saker Baptist College, having a source of continuous running water on their campus is a dream. ExSSA-USA is committed to making that dream a reality by providing an expanded and improved infrastructure of the water delivery to sanitarily accommodate the current student body and faculty, as well the projected growth.
Water is essential for life. We envision and look forward to the day when all Saker Students and faculty will have abundance of clean water. We look forward to the day when there will be no more dry faucets on the Saker Baptist College campus. We dream of sanitation on campus second only to what we enjoy here in the United States. To that end, we have partnered with Engineers Without Borders (

OUR GOALS
EXSSA-USA is looking to achieve the following goals through the water project :
- A constant supply of water to the school for up to 48 hours of power outage
- A clean source of water
- An expanded and improved infrastructure of the water delivery system to accommodate the current student and faculty population as well as projected growth
- Clean sanitized toilet facilities.
To achieve these goals funds are needed. Personal donations will go a long way to support this project.
Please donate and give the gift of water and health
